Child Pornography - Child Porn - Kiddie Porn

Child pornography is sometimes referred to as "kiddie porn" or shortened from child pornography to child porn. Regardless of the term, under the laws of the state of Wisconsin, it is illegal for any person to knowingly possession even a single piece of child pornography. Child pornography can be defined in many ways, but you "know it when you see it" says the appellate court.

Any material that exposes a child's sex organs, whether with another person or alone, or is obscene because of its gestures can qualify as child pornography in the broadest sense.

Felony Crime

Possession of child pornography is a Class I Felony in the state of Wisconsin subject to fines of up to $10,000 per count, imprisonment of up to three and one half years, or both. Penalties can be increased if the convicted defendant has prior convictions.

One Charge Per Piece of Pornography

The state of Wisconsin can press multiples charges against a person who possesses child pornography if any acts goes beyond possession, but will press one charge for each piece of pornography. The photos need not be of residence of the state of Wisconsin or even of the United States - the possession is the unlawful act, and that possession must occur within the state of Wisconsin to fall under Wisconsin jurisdiction and thus be charged.
