Registry - Lifetime Supervision

Any sexual offense prohibited by Wisconsin laws is a criminal offense subject to felony or misdemeanor charges and penalties including fines, incarceration, or both. Additionally, people convicted of a sexual assault crime are often ordered into probation or lifetime supervision and to register as a sex offender.

The Sex Offender Registry

The sex offender registry provides a public listing of all registered sex offenders in the state of Wisconsin. The Wisconsin sexual predator registry is run by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The registry provides a means by which you may search by name (last is required) or location (zip code is required) for a registered sex offender. The registry also provides information about the registrant including whether the registrant is compliant, on lifetime supervision (or if supervision has been terminated), age, height, weight, eye color, hair color, and a photo. The registrant's charges and convictions are also listed. If the person is actively under a supervision order, then the registrant's supervisor is listed.

A person convicted of any of the following sex crimes can be required to register as a sex offender.

• Felony sexual assault (Rape) 
• Possession of Child Pornography 
• Sexual exploitation of a child 
• Sexual assault of a child 
• Use of a computer to commit a sex crime 
• Luring / Enticing through the internet 
• Date rape 
• Use of date rape drugs: GHB, Rophinol 
• Indecent Exposure / Obscenity 
• Gang rape 
• Enticement / Solicitation

Employers have access to Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry, as well as to CCAP - the Wisconsin Circuit Court website which provides a person's arrest information.
